How to Kick or Ban Players on Your ARK Server
Keeping your server fair and enjoyable is an important part of running an ARK: Survival Evolved server.
As an admin, you can:
- Kick a player to remove them temporarily
- Ban a player to block them from joining again
- Unban a player if you want to restore access later
Kicking is useful for smaller issues or warnings, while banning is better for serious rule-breaking such as cheating, exploiting, or repeated harassment.
You need admin permissions to use these commands.
If you do not have admin access yet, see: How to add or remove admins on your ARK server
Steps to kick, ban, or unban a player
Step 1) Join your ARK server.
Step 2) Press TAB to open the in-game console.
Step 3) Get the player list, which also shows the player Steam IDs:
admincheat ListPlayers
Step 4) To kick a player, use:
admincheat KickPlayer [SteamID]
Replace [SteamID] with the actual Steam ID of the player you want to remove.
Step 5) To ban a player, use:
admincheat BanPlayer [SteamID]
Step 6) To unban a player later, use:
admincheat UnBanPlayer [SteamID]
That’s it — you can now manage disruptive players directly from the in-game console.
